The authority that oversees the Washington region's airports, the Dulles toll road and the Dulles Metro rail extension will face the scrutiny of Virginia's delegates Thursday.

The House of Delegates transportation committee will hold a hearing on the operations of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority at 10:30 a.m. in Herndon, where they'll hear testimony from MWAA officials.

MWAA has been criticized in recent weeks by local and state officials who question the authority's practices. Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., requested a federal audit of the agency, and the MWAA board members have reportedly accused one another of racism in a split over a vote to decide the authority's next chief executive.
