Former Rep. Allen West thinks Lady Gaga needs some instruction on the importance of the National Anthem.

The fiery Florida Republican is also demanding that she apologize to America’s active and retired veterans.

Lady Gaga drew West’s fire after she changed the words of the National Anthem to “home for the gay” instead of “home of the brave” during a performance at the June 28 New York City Gay Pride parade.

“Having served in the US Army for 22 years alongside some very brave men and women, I find Lady Gaga’s defiling of our National Anthem reprehensible,” West said in a Facebook post Monday.

“We are the land of the free because America has always been the home of the brave from Lexington and Concord to Kandahar. This young lady should be taken to Ft. McHenry and given a history lesson as to why Francis Scott Key wrote those words incredible words,” West wrote.

West was particularly upset that the pop singer dissed the National Anthem just days before the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the July 4th Independence Day celebrations.
