A 3-foot long alligator was found inside a Maryland home while police were executing a search warrant, officials said.

On Friday, Anne Arundel County police executed a search and seizure warrant at 7506 Gleneagle Dr. in Jessup as a result of an investigation into alleged drug-trafficking crimes at the home. Detectives seized marijuana worth about $3,180, drug paraphernalia, $792 of currency and some unknown substances that have been taken to a crime lab for analysis, Anne Arundel County police officials said.

The alligator was also found, and it appeared to be in good health. It was taken to animal control and then was taken to a facility in Maryland for exotic animals, officials said.

Michael Golden, 32, was charged with marijuana possession and with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Golden, a resident of the home, is an associate of the Dead Man Inc. street gang, officials said.

Additional charges are possible relating to the unknown substances found at the home.
