That was quick. Just 24 hours after Aaron Alexis opened fire on innocent Americans – killing 12 – at the Washington Navy Yard Monday, those looking to assign blame for the tragedy are citing violent video games.

Apparently, according to one of his few friends, Alexis played "Call of Duty" for up to 16 hours a day and zombie video games between 12:30pm and 4:30am.

"He could be in the game all day and all night," Alexis’ best friend and roommate told the Telegraph (UK). "I think games might be what pushed him that way."

Sure, video games could be to blame, or maybe it was the voices Alexis heard, or his obsession with 9/11 and claims of post-traumatic stress disorder from the attack.

Nah, it was probably the video games that are played by millions of people across the country who don’t go on shooting rampages.
