House Republicans are growing increasingly hostile towards Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, after Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, agreed to vote on a continuing resolution for the budget that defunds Obamacare.

Anonymous Republican leadership aides are turning to the press to vent their frustrations.

"Wendy Davis has more [guts] than Ted Cruz," referring to a part of the male anatomy, one GOP leadership aide told CNN's Dana Bash. Bash reported the comment on Twitter.

Other aides complained that Cruz was already admitting defeat in the Senate.

"Some people came here to govern and make things better for their constituents," one GOP aide told the Huffington Post. "Ted Cruz came here to throw bombs and fundraise off of attacks on fellow Republicans. He's a joke, plain and simple."

"This isn't leadership, it's hypocrisy," complained another senior GOP aide to the Huffington Post, accusing Senate Republicans of misleading their grassroots constituents.
