President Obama leaves for Mexico this afternoon, but that doesn’t mean that he gets to have all the fun. Vice President Joe Biden is reportedly hosting a Cinco De Mayo party at the vice presidential mansion.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, a Republican, will travel to Washington, D.C., for the occasion.

“I think it speaks well for our ability to build relationships in spite of the fact that he is a Democrat and I am a Republican,” Martinez said yesterday, explaining why she chose to accept Biden’s invitation.

No word from the vice president’s office yet on the dinner menu or the rest of the guest list.
