Net neutrality complaints hit record

.

More than 1.4 million comments have been filed to the Federal Communications Commission regarding net neutrality.

The 1,477,301 comments are the most ever to an FCC docket, Gigi Sohn, special counsel for external affairs tweeted Wednesday.

This number passes the number of complaints filed after Janet Jackson’s 2004 Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction,” noted video provider Netflix, which opposes the FCC’s proposal.

“Let’s cover the web with symbolic ‘loading’ icons, to remind everyone what an Internet without net neutrality would look like, and drive record numbers of emails and calls to lawmakers,” Netflix’s website reads.

This round of comments ends Sept. 15.
