Billy Bush, who was featured in the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape in which President Trump was caught on a hot mic in 2005 bragging about groping women without their consent, sent a message to the president Sunday reminding him the tape is authentic.
In a New York Times op-ed published Sunday, Bush said there's no doubt who's on the tape bragging about sexual assault.
The New York Times reported last week Trump is now doubting the authenticity of the tape, but Bush reminded the president he did actually say “Grab 'em by the pussy.”
“He said it. Grab 'em by the pussy,” Bush wrote. “Of course he said it.”
Bush said he believes the women who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct. Bush repeated a couple of the stories Trump’s accusers told last year after the tape leaked to the Washington Post.
“I believe her,” Bush wrote.
Bush said he can’t fathom what it’s like for Trump’s accusers to see the president “indulging in some revisionist history.”
“I can only imagine how it has reopened the wounds of the women who came forward with their stories about him, and did not receive enough attention. This country is currently trying to reconcile itself to years of power abuse and sexual misconduct. Its leader is wantonly poking the bear,” Bush wrote.
Bush said he respects and admires the women who were brave enough to come forward, linking their names forever to Trump.
“You are culture warriors at the forefront of necessary change,” he said.
Bush was fired from NBC weeks before the 2016 election after the release of the tape.
