Stolen Alexandria police cruiser found in P.G.

A stolen Alexandria police cruiser was found in Prince George's County on Friday, police said.

Police announced Friday afternoon they were investigating the theft of one of the department's marked police cruisers: a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria stocked with a Remington 870 shotgun and a Panasonic Toughbook laptop.

The cruiser was taken from 2727 Duke Street sometime overnight Thursday. Police said the cruiser had been parked and locked.

Around 5 p.m. Friday, Prince George's County police notified Alexandria officials they had located the stolen cruiser. Police did not specify where or how the cruiser was found, and had not yet completed an inventory of the police property left in the cruiser.

Police identify Lanham shooting victim

Police have identified a Lanham man who was shot to death at his home on Wednesday and are investigating the death as a homicide.

Kevin James, 39, of the 10100 block of Old Franklin Avenue, was found suffering from gunshot wounds by Prince George's County police at approximately 3:10 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Man wanted for Annapolis double shooting

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Clarence Eugene Johnson III in a double shooting in Annapolis on Wednesday evening that left one dead and another hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Police found 33-year-old Joseph Johnson III, of Brooklyn, Md. dead when they arrived at 1458 Tyler Avenue for a report of a shooting at about 9:19 p.m. Wednesday. They also found Annapolis resident Jana Jackson, 31, at the same address. Jackson remains in critical condition after being flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center to be treated for gunshot wounds.

Police said there is no relationship between the victims and the suspect, but that they knew each other.

Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
