Physically ailing Bob Dole is stepping back on to the political stage to help a Kansas political friend and attack Obamacare and the two other major scandals plaguing the Obama White House, the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups and the Veterans Affairs medical mess.

In an ad for Rep. Lynn Jenkins, running for reelection, Dole voices his concern about the issues.

“America faces big challenges. The IRS and VA scandals. Medicare in trouble and Obamacare making things worse. But I believe in America because I believe in leaders like Lynn Jenkins. She works hard on the big issues,” he says slowly.

“Lynn sticks to her conservative principles but she gets things done, it's the Kansas way,” added the long time Kansas senator and World War II hero.

The ad is a coup for Jenkins and the latest sign that Dole is watering his Kansas roots. He recently returned for a tour of the state's counties.

Today marks Dole's 91st birthday. During his April tour of Kansas, he struggled to get around, but joked about it. “When you're 90, you don't order room service or green bananas,” he said.
