A real estate agent was arrested after Arlington County police said he was caught on camera stealing women's clothing from a house that had been put up for sale.

Police said Stephen Brumme, of Silver Spring, used his real estate access card to enter a home for sale on N. 11th Street in Arlington to steal women's underwear. The theft was discovered after a resident at the home discovered that several items of women's clothing were missing from the bedroom.

The victim reviewed the motion activated web cameras that had been placed in the home, and they revealed Brumme rifling through drawers and closets and stuffing underwear in his pockets, police said.

Police said the victim was not a client of Brumme's, but he had entered the home to show the home to his client, said spokesman Dustin Sternbeck.

Brumme, 60, was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. The access card was the tool that Brumme used to gain entry to ultimately commit the crime, Sternbeck said. Brumme was released on bail, and his real estate license was immediately suspended, police said.

Police are reviewing Brumme's access logs that show he has been in hundreds of homes over the past few months, Sternbeck said.

Police have released video of the incident, and are looking for any more victims. Anyone with additional information can call police at (703) 558-2222.
