Chris Christie has probably had better months.

The New Jersey Governor dropped out of the presidential race, endorsed Donald Trump, enduring apparent belittling by Trump and drew mockery from many media outlets.

Then, Christie, who has struggled with his weight, was caught Friday in an unflattering maneuver: apparently replenishing a large box of M&M's with a smaller bag of the same mouth melting candy. The move occured at a Notre Dame-Wisconsin NCAA basketball tournament game in Philadelphia Friday.

One reporter captioned the photo: "Chris Christie pouring his bag of M&M's into a bigger bag of MORE M&M's is a savage and perplexing move."

Christie, who supports Donald Trump's presidential bid, was considered close to a front-runner for the Republican nomination back in 2013. It's been a long, hard fall for the New Jersey governor since his reputation took a beating over the "Bridgegate" scandal, in which his aides created a traffic jam on roads leading to the George Washington Bridge in an apparent effort to punish the mayor of Fort Lee, N.J., for decling to endorse Christie's re-election.

It should be noted that Christie may not in fact have been offering himself a second helping of candy.

As several commentators noted, it is common to buy box of M&Ms at sports events only to find the candy is packaged in a smaller bag within the box. That means Christie was possibly pouring his M&M's into an empty box.

Christie may yet wage a political comeback, or serve in a potential Trump administration, but images like this don't help.
