Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a tweet to President Trump on Friday indicating his discomfort with vulgar language used by Anthony Scaramucci, the new White House communications director.
Grassley, R-Iowa, said he would be "happy" to visit Trump in the White House, but warned the president to "tell Scaramucci not to use that filthy language around me."
On Thursday, New Yorker reporter Ryan Lizza published a first-person account of a conversation he had with Scaramucci on Wednesday night, in which the White House communications director referred to Reince Priebus, White House chief of staff, as a "fucking paranoid schizophrenic."
In the phone call, initiated by Scaramucci, he accused Priebus of leaking and suggested he may ask him to resign.
"What I want to do is I want to fucking kill all the leakers and I want to get the President's agenda on track so we can succeed for the American people," Scaramucci told Lizza.
Scaramucci also accused Steve Bannon, the White House chief strategist, of self-promoting himself.
"I'm not Steve Bannon, I'm not trying to suck my own cock," he said.
This is not the first time Grassley made noise on Twitter this week.
On Wednesday, Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, strongly suggested he would not allow his panel to consider confirming a replacement this year for Attorney General Jeff Sessions if Trump were to fire him.
"Everybody in D.C. [should be] warned that the agenda for the judiciary [committee] is set for rest of 2017," Grassley wrote on Twitter. "Judges first subcabinet 2nd / AG no way," he added, with "AG" referring to attorney general.
