Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Friday that the failure of Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare is the result of President Trump's "incompetence and broken promises."

"With the failure of Trumpcare in the House, Americans finally can breath a sigh of relief," Schumer said. He predicted it would have been a "disaster" for the country if the bill had passed.

"Ultimately, the Trumpcare bill failed because of two traits: incompetence and broken promises," he said. "In my life, I have never seen an administration as incompetent as the one that occupies the White House today."

"They can't get their story straight," he said. "[T]oday we've learned they can't count votes and can't close a deal… so much for the art of the deal."
