MSNBC’s Chuck Todd explained Thursday morning on “Morning Joe” that the influence of the United States around the world was “waning” during the Obama presidency.

“This has been a rough six months for this administration as there’s a lot of – in the foreign policy world – there’s a lot of evidence out there that this U.S. influence is waning,” Todd said, pointing out to the administration’s failure to force Russia to give up Edward Snowden and the continuing struggle to direct the conflict in Egypt.

“This in many ways a natural thing to happen because of the global sort of flattening of everything, but, you know, the U.S. influence in general is clearly waning – we aren’t able to sort of push our way around some things the way we used to,” Todd concluded.
