Hillary Clinton threw her support behind House Democrats as they occupied the House Floor after the Wednesday morning session to protest the lack of votes on gun control measures this week.
Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., organized and encouraged the protest.
"This is what real leadership looks like," Clinton tweeted Wednesday afternoon, linking to a tweet about the Lewis-led sit in.
Because the Republican majority controls the cameras, CSPAN cameras were only able to show some of the protest at its beginning.
It is unclear how long the sit-in will last, but Democrats were chanting "No bill, no break." When Republicans tried to gavel the House back in at noon, Democrats refused to follow the rules about speaking only when recognized, and Republicans gaveled the House back into recess again. It's not clear when they might try to resume work.
