Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler — now a Republican candidate for governor — has just released a new introduction video featuring his campaign announcement speech.

"The liberal left, I think, is terrified that their backroom deals and their cozy status quo politics are threatened," Gessler says in the video. "They're terrified that they are going to have no place in a smart, accountable and limited government."

Gessler, nicknamed the "Honey Badger" for his tendency to enrage the Colorado Left, announced his campaign in September.

"The liberal media calls me the Honey Badger," Gessler said. "Maybe it is my sheer unwillingness to go along and get along with bad policies."

Gessler joins former Rep. Tom Tancredo and state Sen. Greg Brophy, who have already announced a run for governor

An Aug. 23 Quinnipiac poll showed Gessler's support in Colorado at 42 percent, compared to Gov. John Hickenlooper, who earned 47 percent.
