By leaving Loyola after nine seasons for Siena, coach Jimmy Patsos is staying within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. But it's no secret that the Saints eventually could be on the move as well.

Siena is coming off an 8-24 season but went to the NCAA tournament three seasons in a row from 2008-10 and won 20 or more games four straight years under Fran McCaffrey, who is now at Iowa. More importantly, the Saints have been rumored as a potential target for the Atlantic 10. It's not the same as Andy Enfield's leap from Florida Gulf Coast to USC, but it makes sense for Patsos, 46, who was an assistant at Maryland under Gary Williams for 13 years.

The Greyhounds are headed to the Patriot League next year, a move that benefits nearly all of its sports except basketball, where the move is lateral at best. Two years after leading Loyola to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 18 seasons, Patsos was in for change whether he departed or not.
