Sen. Lindsey Graham argued Monday that Israel would be justified in attacking Syria because of the number of Iranian troops and Hezbollah members operating in Syria.
“I don’t know,” Graham, R-S.C., said on Fox News when asked if he thought Israel is responsible for Sunday’s air attack against a Syrian base. “But they would have every justification to act because Iran is very embedded in Syria, along with Hezbollah.”

Syria and Russia accused Israel of carrying out the air attack, after initially blaming the U.S.
The attack came after the U.S. charged Syria was complicit in a chemical attack against Syrians, and warned Syria would have a “big price to pay.”
Graham said the U.S. should destroy Bashar Assad’s air force.
“The regime has to pay a big price. What would be a big price? To lose your air force,” he said.
“This should be the last time a barrel bomb is dropped on innocent civilians by the Assad air force,” Graham added. “We have the capability to destroy his air force, to ground his air fleet, and we should use that capability.”
