A convoy with U.S. and Afghan personnel was attacked in Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan, the U.S. military said Monday.
The convoy was hit by a roadside bomb and attacked with small arms fire, the Pentagon said, and returned fire.
No U.S. service members were killed, and the Department of Defense said it hadn't received allegations of civilian deaths. The release did not say whether any Afghan soldiers died.
The incident is under investigation.
