Obamacare "navigators" - those tasked with assisting Americans in signing up for health insurance through the state and federal exchanges - are as potentially dangerous as ACORN, the former community organizing group accused of voter fraud, according to Rep. Darrell Issa.

Issa, speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday about the latest charge that Obamacare navigators were actively telling potential buyers to lie on their health insurance applications in order to receive lower premiums and higher subsidies.

What the navigators are doing was “absolutely against the law,” Issa said.

The California congressman, who leads the House Oversight and Government Reform committee, said that there were no checks on the navigators, meaning Americans using their services were open to identity theft.

“This is basically just another form of community organizing paid for with your tax dollars,” Issa said. “ACORN revisited, if you will.”

Issa said that the navigators do not exist to “sell the merits of the insurance,” but to “sell the subsidy” for that insurance.

Essentially, the Obamacare navigators exist to sign up more people on the government’s dole — and taxpayers are paying them.
