The District said on Friday that D.C. officials have agreed to raise Boston's flag over the John A. Wilson Building throughout the weekend as a gesture of support less than two weeks after the Boston Marathon bombings.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray announced on Twitter that the District would fly Boston's standard "in solidarity" with Massachusetts' capital as Washington hosts a half-marathon on Sunday.

D.C. is also scheduled to go head-to-head with a Boston team on Saturday when the Bruins play the Capitals at the Verizon Center.
