The D.C. police officer who was struck in a hit-and-run in March and then waited more than 15 minutes for an ambulance left the hospital on Tuesday, NBC Washington reported.
Sean Hickman was on-duty when he was injured on March 5, and he had multiple surgeries. He was taken to a hospital by an ambulance from Prince George's County because none of the District's ambulances were available. An internal investigation later found that three D.C. ambulances were improperly out of service at the time.
Three men have been charged in connection with the hit-and-run.
