One shooter was killed at the Navy Yard installation, but D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier told reporters that there may be two more shooters still on the loose wearing military uniforms.

"We potentially have two other shooters that we have not located," Lanier told reporters, emphasizing that the information is not confirmed. She described one of the potential shooters as a white man wearing khaki, what "appeared to be a naval uniform" and the other as a black man, about 50-years-old, wearing an "olive drab color," apparently another military uniform.

Lanier said that the police had no reason to believe that the potential shooters were actually members of the U.S. military.
