The man is believed to have entered the house on the 4400 block of Ponds Street Northeast just before 2 a.m., according to Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooter was described as a light-skinned black man who is five-foot-five and wearing a black mask, red jacket and blue jeans. He was carrying a red bookbag and a handgun.
