Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., revealed Wednesday that her daughter nearly attended the Route 91 Harvest country music festival that became the scene of carnage in Las Vegas.

"My own daughter was going to go. I have an email from her, she was going to go with neighbors," Feinstein said. "And they, for one reason or another, both families decided they wouldn't. They were gonna stay at that hotel. That's how close it came to me. And I just thank God. It's just, it's one of those misses in life. It could happen to any one of us."

Feinstein is introducing a bill to ban "bump stocks," legal devices that can modify semiautomatic weapons to mimic the firing capability of fully automatic weapons.
