A 35-year-old driver in a crash that killed two people has been charged in their deaths.

Ramon Anaya-Ascencio, of no fixed address, is facing eight charges, including two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol as well as two counts for vehicular manslaughter.

The incident happened about 7:45 a.m. Monday, in the 10800 block of Lanham Severn Road in Lanham.

Prince George's County police said Anaya was behind the wheel of a Honda Accord that crossed in front of an Audi. The Audi struck the Honda on its passenger side. Two passengers in the Honda, Leo Castro, 46, and Jose Rodriquez, 30, both of Lanham, were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Police said alcohol appeared to a be a factor in the crash.
