Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Thursday congratulated her former foe, Scott Brown, for his appointment as ambassador to New Zealand.

"Congrats @SenScottBrown on your nomination for New Zealand Ambassador!" the liberal tweeted Thursday. "You have my support & I'm sure you'll make the people of MA proud."

Brown lost re-election to his Massachusetts Senate seat in 2012 to Warren.

Later Thursday, New Hampshire Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen also expressed support for the appointment.

"Congratulations @SenScottBrown on your nomination as US Ambassador to New Zealand. You have my support," Shaheen said.

President Trump announced his plans to nominate Brown as ambassador to New Zealand on Thursday.

"If confirmed, Scott Brown of Massachusetts will serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to New Zealand," the White House said in a release.
