Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said the 2016 Democratic primary was "fair" to both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, despite saying last week the Democratic National Committee's process was "rigged."
"I agree with what Donna Brazile has said over the last few days; that while there was some bias at the DNC, the overall 2016 primary process was fair and Hillary made history," Warren told MassLive.
Earlier, Warren told CNN that ex-DNC interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile's revelations of an intricate financing and operations deal with Clinton's 2016 campaign was a "real problem" and that Democrats should hold their party to account.
"Yes," Warren replied when pressed on whether she agreed with claims the DNC was rigged in favor of the former secretary of state over the more progressive Vermont senator.
A spokeswoman for Warren later clarified that Warren only thought the DNC was rigged, not the primary process itself.
