Television host Ellen DeGeneres says she would not like President Trump to be a guest on her show.

Speaking with "Today Show" host Matt Lauer in a clip released Friday, DeGeneres explained how she met Trump once, several years ago around when his "Celebrity Apprentice" began its run, but doesn't know the man well now.

"We went out there and we filmed something with him," she said. "I flew in his helicopter and did a bit with him. And so I knew him then. I have not spoken to him since he's run for president or become president."

Lauer then asked if she would like Trump to appear as a guest on her TV talk show, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which she has hosted since 2003.

"No," she said, which earned cheers from the audience.

Lauer pressed her to explain her answer.

"Because I'm not going to change his mind," DeGeneres said. "He's against everything that I stand for. We need to look at someone else who looks different than us, and believes in something that we don't believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights."

DeGeneres has had Hillary Clinton and former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush on her show. In 2016, she received a Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama.
