Heating up: Music picks for the weekend

As the summer heats up, so do the music offerings. Here are some of the great shows you should check out this weekend.

Tonight

Staind. Expect a hefty crowd to greet these classic rockers who perform with Shinedown, Chevelle and Halestorm. Details: $25 to $39.59; 7 p.m. Merriweather Post Pavilion, 10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia, ticketmaster.com

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

The Damnwells. A touch Wilco, a bit Tom Petty and a signature sound that has won the band loyal fans including critics at Rolling Stone magazine. With Pete and J; part of the Poetry Series.
