Scoop: Rob, Kristen stay hush

New Moon” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart aren’t just hiding their romance from the media, they’re hiding it from everyone, an insider tells Fox’s Pop Tarts. And part of the reason for their excess discretion could be that Rob dumped fellow co-star Nikki Reed to enter the relationship.

“Rob and Kristen are funny because they’re so supersecretive. Even with their closest friends in the cast, they’re very cryptic,” the source says. “They are together for sure because it really caused waves between Rob, Kristen and Nikki Reed.”

“After the first ‘Twilight’ wrapped, when Rob and Nikki were together and no one was a megastar yet, you could still see the sparks between Kristen and Rob even though they were each in their respective relationships [she with actor Michael Angarano],” the insider says. “They always had this really intense, magnetic chemistry. So Nikki was the one to get hurt.”

“Nikki was really in love with Rob, but we’re all scared to bring it up now. It’s something we just don’t talk about,” the source says.

“Everyone is relieved she’s with [beau] Paris [Latsis] because he is an amazing boyfriend to her. She’s happy and she’s really found someone that she can lean on through all the media hype surrounding the series.”

Tale of Two Taylors

Meanwhile, another “New Moon” star is also remaining tight-lipped about a rumored romance. Taylor Lautner, the hunky teen actor who makes his series debut as a werewolf in the upcoming film, won’t say whether he and singer Taylor Swift are an item.

“The very funny thing is that all of you have seen every single move I make, so I guess I can leave that up to you to decide,” he pointed out to reporters when asked about the love connection. Indeed, recent sightings of the pair going out to dinner and attending a hockey game kind of speak for themselves.

For her part, Taylor — the female one — made reference to her (presumed) beau in her “SNL” monologue, singing, “If you’re wondering if I might be dating a werewolf from ‘Twilight,’” then mouthing “Hi, Taylor” and blowing him a kiss. Aw, that’s just too precious.

Lying Lohan?

The war of words between Lindsay Lohan and dad Michael is escalating. After the actress and mom Dina were appalled by his public release of personal phone calls he secretly taped, LiLo tweeted, “She [Dina] blames herself for staying w/him for so long, I’d beg her not to leave b/c he always threatened to kill her if she did.”

Asked about the allegation by Page Six, Michael fumed: “That’s a lie. I guess Lindsay is on more drugs than I thought to say something like that. Now I’m going to release more recordings that prove everything she is saying is nothing more than a bunch of lies.”

Why do we think this ugliness isn’t ending anytime soon?
