Attorney General Eric Holder explained Wednesday afternoon that he had no knowledge of the Justice Department’s decision to acquire phone records from the Associated Press because he had recused himself from the case.

Holder added that he had no facts to share with the House Judiciary Committee, but was convinced that his employees followed the proper protocol.

“I have faith in the people who actually were responsible for this case, that they were aware of the rules and that they followed them,” Holder said confidently.

Holder said that because the investigation was ongoing, he was unwilling to share any information from the case.
