The federal investigation into Mayor Vincent Gray's campaign is still ongoing, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
"The investigation continues," Assistant U.S. Attorney Ellen Chubin Epstein said during a status hearing for Thomas Gore, the campaign's assistant treasurer.
Epstein did not give a timeline for when the probe might conclude and asked for another status hearing in December. A federal judge set the conference for Dec. 12, a session that could determine when Gore faces sentencing.
Gore pleaded guilty in May to destroying evidence and several campaign finance charges in connection with illegal payments to minor mayoral candidate Sulaimon Brown.
Two other Gray campaign operatives have also pleaded guilty to federal charges, though the mayor has not been accused of wrongdoing.
