First lady Melania Trump will no longer join her husband President Trump on his trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this week.

The first lady's communications director Stephanie Grisham told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday the office made the change of plans due to "scheduling and logistical issues," though she did not state what the first lady will do while in the U.S.

As of last week, Melania Trump was set to attend the event with the president.

She has laid low in recent weeks after reports that her husband engaged in an extramarital affair with porn star Stormy Daniels during the first year of their marriage.

On Jan. 20, the first lady tweeted that this year has been one "filled with many wonderful moments" and praised the people of America, but not her husband.
