Fox News confirmed that thousands of protesters showed up outside of President Trump's rally in Phoenix, Ariz., on Tuesday, contradicting what the president said during his speech.
"And just so you know from the Secret Service there aren't too many people outside protesting, that I can tell you," Trump said during the opener of his speech.
"Thousands of protesters gathered outside the Phoenix Convention Center Tuesday night ahead of a speech by President Donald Trump, his first political event since the deadly violence in Charlottesville, Va.," Fox News wrote in an article published late Tuesday night.
Fox News was the only media outlet that Trump praised during his speech, spending a great deal of the nearly hour-and-a-half event bashing the "dishonest media" and placing blame on outlets for the "division" in our country.
"How about all week they're talking about the massive crowds that are going to be outside. Where are they?" Trump asked while discussing the "dishonest media" during his speech.
Video footage on CNN Tuesday night showed police attempting to disperse protesters with canisters of tear gas and pepper spray.
