Here’s what tight end Fred Davis told Buffalo area reporters after visiting with the Bills. He reportedly left with an offer en route to visiting the New York Jets on Friday:

On his impressions of the visit: “It’s fun man just to see the stadium and the facility, meet some of the coaches again and see some of the coaches I didn’t get to see at the dinner. This is my first time ever really being here besides playing against the Bills so it was just a good feeling to see what it was like and see the city a little bit.”

On feedback from coaches: “It’s good, really good, just seeing what they’re about. The dinner was just about getting to know them and what they want for next year and the things they expect and how they want to involve the tight end bringing me in and the other guys that they have. It was just a good feeling to talk about that type of stuff.”

On his Achilles: “I’m way ahead of schedule for me. I don’t know what it is for most guys. I went to the best doctor in the country in Dr. (James) Anderson. Terrell Suggs had his surgery and he came back in five months and played the last few games. Depending on how bad your Achilles was depends, but for me it was definitely maybe four and a half months and I’m running on the treadmill, doing drills, so I’m way ahead of schedule.”

If the unsettled QB situation in Buffalo is an issue: “They’re scouting for guys right now and I think they’ll draft one, I don’t know for sure. I think that’s the direction they’re headed and I would be confident in that. I think there are some good guys in the draft right now and they have a high pick so I feel confident that they’ll probably make a decision in that area.”

On if the Bills are a fit: “A team like this would be. They have a lot of talent that I need. They have two good running backs. They have Stevie (Johnson). They have another tight end even though he got hurt who will come back. The defense is good. I think they have a lot of stuff that we can add more pieces to and get better. Any team that has a chance to win is what I want and this coaching staff seems to have that same focus.”

On the Jets’ visit: “I will still see other teams. It’s a business. You always have to see all your options before you make a decision. I won’t make any fast decision. I want to wait and make sure I’m all the way confident and go from there.”

Whether or not the Redskins remain an option: “Yeah they’re still an option for me. We’re still talking to them too so we’ll see what happens.”

On his warning to other teams that pass on him: “It was something like that. I just feel like the numbers I could’ve put up the past couple of years I could’ve been one of the top tight ends in the league in the right situation with other players around me helping me and me helping them too. So I just feel like any team that I don’t get to sign, the team that I do sign with I’m going to make it known what I’m going to do this year.”

If the Bills’ offense is tight end friendly?: “It seemed like it would be a very tight end friendly offense. A lot of the plays would be around the tight end as well as the receivers and the running game. It depends on what area is doing better as the game goes on, but I think definitely the tight end will be a main part of this offense.”

On whether or not the QB situation will impact his decision with Buffalo?: “I feel confident in the situation and what they’re going to do with the direction that they’re headed. I think they have a good chance to get somebody that can play and when you add pieces around that player it’s going to make that player better as well. So I think they can definitely do that here.”
