The findings, deep in a poll our Philip Klein reviewed, show just how much the bungled rollout of the Obamacare website has undermined support from Obama's base. Overall, the nation views Obamacare this way: 22 percent call it the president's biggest success, 36 percent his biggest failure.
But it’s not his only problem in the eyes of his supporters. Some 15 percent of Democrats hit Obama for not working with Republicans, and another 6 percent slapped his lack of communication.
Below is how Democrats answered Gallup on this question: “What would you say has been President Obama’s biggest failure so far in his administration?”
- Obamacare: 25 percent
– Not getting along with Congress/not working with Republicans: 15 percent
– Lack of communication: 6 percent
– Lack of immigration reform: 5 percent
– Lack of leadership: 4 percent
– Getting troops out of war: 4 percent
– Economy: 3 percent.
– Unemployment: 3 percent.
The poll backs up other recent surveys that show liberals upset with Obama. For example, a recent Pew poll found that just 54 percent of liberals strongly back the president.Paul Bedard, the Washington Examiner's "Washington Secrets" columnist, can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
