A grand jury in Charlottesville is expected to hear evidence Monday against University of Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely V, accused of killing former girlfriend Yeardley Love.

District Judge Robert Downer set the date for the meeting of the grand jury, which will decide whether to indict Huguely and send the case to trial, last week after a nine-hour preliminary hearing.

Huguely, 23, of Chevy Chase, is accused of beating Love and leaving her to die in her apartment in May 2010. Both played for the university's lacrosse teams.
