Welcome to this week’s edition of The Examiner’s “Tailgater of the Year” contest, where The Examiner selects the best tailgaters from college and professional football games in the Baltimore area.

This week, we were very impressed by LaGearl Boston and Ravens Roost 35 of Annapolis, who threw a huge party with a massive buffet for about 35 fans prior to the Ravens’ game against the Eagles at M&T Bank Stadium. If anyone left hungry, it was their fault.

This week’s winner » Boston and Ravens Roost 35 of Annapolis
Location » The corner of Russell and Hamburg streets, in Lot B of M&T Bank Stadium.
Setup » Grills, propane burners, awning, several tables, a few flags and a 42-inch, high-definition, flat-screen TV with a satellite dish so the group won’t miss any of the pregame show.
On the grill » A buffet of fried turkey, bean soup, chili, cornbread, hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, macaroni salad and coleslaw.
Best side dish » Crab soup
Attendance » About 35
Experience » LaGearl is the president of Ravens Roost 35, which has been around since it was Colts Corral 35 before the team moved to Indianapolis. The groups begins preparation for their party at about 7 a.m. to ensure it gets the same corner spot in Lot B. For fans who don’t have tickets, they can watch the game on a nicer TV than the one found in many homes.
“We all pull together and get something set up each week,” Boston, 59, said. “We enjoy football and enjoy being together.”

Think you can top Roost 35? Let us know where to find you when we attend the Ravens’ game against the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium in Ohio on Sunday. If you think you can tailgate with the best of them, please email: tailgate@baltimoreexaminer.com.

We’re not looking for a small grill with hot dogs and hamburgers on it.

We’re looking for extravagant, like a portable sports bar with menu items you can’t get for a dollar at a fast food joint.

We have high expectations for you, football fans. Please, don’t let us down.

Think you have what it takes? At the end of the season, each of the weekly winners will be posted on baltimoreexaminer.com and the one with the most votes gets bragging rights and a prize.
