Hillary Clinton slammed President Trump for subjecting the American people to what she described as his "ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn't look like him" during the anniversary of the earthquake that devastated Haiti eight years ago.

"The anniversary of the devastating earthquake 8 years ago is a day to remember the tragedy, honor the resilient people of Haiti, & affirm America’s commitment to helping our neighbors," Clinton tweeted. "Instead, we‘re subjected to Trump’s ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn’t look like him."

Trump is facing harsh criticism after referring to "shithole countries" during a bipartisan immigration meeting on Thursday. “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” he reportedly asked. El Salvador, Haiti, and various African countries may have been included in that designation, though Trump denied on Friday saying anything "derogatory" about Haiti.

Since the meeting, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have spoken out against Trump's rhetoric.
