White House national security adviser H.R. McMaster said President Trump's repeated threats of a military action in North Korea is the best way to send a message to Kim Jong Un.
"Our president has been really clear, he's not going to permit this regime and Kim Jong Un to threaten the United States with a nuclear weapon," McMaster said on "Fox News Sunday."
"He's going to do anything necessary to prevent that from happening and what Kim Jong Un should recognize is that if he thinks the development of this nuclear capability is keeping him safer, it's actually the opposite."
Trump has been using his Twitter account to antagonize the hermit kingdom and threaten war with the country if they don't back away from their nuclear program. Those efforts have so far proved to be unsuccessful.
The North Koreans again threatened to destroy the U.S. territory of Guam with a missile in response to Trump's comments.
