Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised President Trump for his speech before the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, calling it the most "bold" and "courageous" speech he's heard delivered at the annual gathering of world leaders and diplomats.

"I've been ambassador to the United Nations, and I'm a long-serving Israeli prime minister, so I've listened to countless speeches in this hall," Netanyahu said during his own address before the United Nations General Assembly. "But I can say this — none were bolder, none were more courageous and forthright than the one delivered by President Trump today."

Netanyahu specifically praised Trump's denouncement of Iran and his criticism of the Iran nuclear deal, which Trump said earlier Tuesday was "one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into."

"President Trump rightly called the nuclear deal with Iran, he called it an embarrassment," the Israeli prime minister said. "Well, I couldn't agree with him more."

The Israeli prime minister went on to note Iran vows to destroy Israel every day and is on a "campaign of conquest across the Middle East."

In his speech before the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly, Netanyahu lamented what he said is an inability for the United Nations to recognize what is right and wrong, and cited the resolution passed by the United Nations Security Council in December condemning Israeli settlement construction in disputed Palestinian territory as an example.

The U.S. abstained from that vote.

Netanyahu also criticized the World Health Organization for adopting in May a resolution co-sponsored by Syria that targeted Israel for "health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territory, including east Jerusalem, and in the occupied Syrian Golan."

"For too long, the epicenter of global anti-Semitism has been right here at the UN," Netanyahu said.

But since Trump took office and has expressed an "unequivocal support" for Israel, Netanyahu said there has been a "positive change" at the United Nations that is "gathering force."

"Thank you, President Trump, thank you for supporting Israel at the UN, and thank you for your support Ambassador Nikki Haley," he said. "Thank you for speaking the truth about Israel."
