Jeanine Pirro, host of the Fox News program "Justice with Jeanine," recently met with President Trump to encourage the idea of a special counsel that would investigate Hillary Clinton and her role in a U.S. deal to allow a Russian company to take over U.S. uranium mines, according to a report.

Citing anonymous sources, the New York Times reported Monday night that Pirro, who has pushed for such a special counsel on her weekend show, met with Trump in the Oval Office on Nov. 1.

“Everything I said to President Trump is exactly what I’ve vocalized on my show, ‘Justice with Jeanine,'" Pirro said in a statement to the paper.

The Justice Department, under Attorney General Jeff Sessions, said Monday it is considering making the appointment.

Trump has publicly said on multiple occasions that the department should be investigating Democrats, specifically Clinton for her time as secretary of the State Department in 2010, when the Obama administration allowed the deal to go forward.
