Comedian Jimmy Kimmel thanked Sen. John McCain moments after the Arizona lawmaker announced his opposition to Republicans' Obamacare overhaul.
"Thank you @SenJohnMcCain for being a hero again and again and now AGAIN," Kimmel tweeted Friday.
McCain said he will not vote for the bill to overhaul Obamacare, likely killing its chances of passage before a crucial Sept. 30 deadline.
"I cannot in good conscience vote for the Graham-Cassidy proposal," McCain said in a statement. "I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried."
Kimmel has staunchly opposed the bill, authored by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy. He has focused many of his "Jimmy Kimmel Live" monologues in recent days on the healthcare bill.
