Leave it to Vice President Joe Biden to inspire confidence in the federal government's efforts to repair healthcare.gov, the dysfunctional Obamacare website that was supposed to allow users to purchase health insurance online.
“The truth is, we’re going to fix it,” Biden said Monday during an event in Houston, Tex. “God willing.”
The pool report explains that Biden visited the state to push for Gov. Rick Perry, R-Tex., to expand Medicaid under Obamacare's provisions.
He went to "thank approximately 50 individuals from community organizations in the Houston area who are working to educate others about the Affordable Health Care Act and help them enroll in health plans," according to a background statement from the vice president's office.
"The vice president will reassert the administration’s call for Texas to expand Medicaid eligibility, which would give more than one million additional Texans access to Medicaid benefits."
