MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said White House top advisers Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner should quit their jobs and return to New York.

In a Washington Post column, Scarborough, a fierce critic of President Trump, said his daughter and son-in-law are running "roughshod" over the administration.

"Americans have seen enough headlines over the past six months to better understand why nepotism does not work in the White House," he said. "Though my words may suggest otherwise, I genuinely like Jared and Ivanka. ... [T]he best thing they can do for their country is to move back to New York and let professionals run the White House."

When John Kelly was named the new White House chief of staff this week, it was reported that Ivanka and Kushner are now required to request face time with the president.
