A federal judge blocked Texas' efforts to steer Medicaid funding away from Planned Parenthood, becoming the latest state's effort to fall short.

Multiple news outlets reported Thursday that the judge's order is temporary and delays the funding cut that would have gone into effect this weekend until next month.

Texas is the latest state to see its efforts to block Medicaid funding to the women's health and abortion provider be derailed by the courts. Prior laws in Arkansas and Mississippi also were blocked by federal courts.
