A cellphone rang during oral arguments at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, and it appeared to belong to Justice Stephen Breyer.

The high court bars electronics of all kinds from entering the courtroom. Visitors, media and others are screened by security officials before going into the room to prevent the attendees from bringing in electronic devices.

Reporters in the room from the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal identified the ring as coming from Breyer and noted the laughter that followed from the bench.

While the high court prevents outsiders from bringing in electronics, it appears the same rules do not apply to Supreme Court justices.
