PHILADELPHIA – Abortionist Kermit Gosnell’s attorney John McMahon in Monday’s opening arguments railed against the media, which he said have “stomped on ... the presumption of innocence.”

He derided the “elitist, racist prosecution,” specifically naming Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore.

Referring to witnesses who criticized the lower standards of Gosnell’s clinic, as opposed to hospitals, McMahon said, “if everything was done right … then you wouldn’t have low-cost health care.” Holding Gosnell to higher standards was “elitist,” McMahon argued.
